Alongside excellent communication and administrative skills, candidates must have
- proven experience in all aspects of private family law
- the ability to craft strategies that have high likelihood of successful outcome and to pivot those strategies when faced with dirty tricks by a clients opposition
- unshakable child centricity in all your work
- the ability to stay calm under pressure and to help clients keep their cool when faced with provocation
- the ability to be truthful to clients, even when that means telling them what they dont want to hear
- critical and lateral thinking skills to aid problem solving
- sound knowledge of and fluency with modern IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and their equivelant
- excellent writing skills for preparing witness and position statements
- forensic approach to collating and scrutinising evidence and preparing exhibits
- knowledge of how to prepare court bundles in accordance with modern standards and requirements for practice direction 27a
Responsibilities
- Provide organisational, practical and emotional support to clients
- Keep strict timesheets of work undertaken
- Manage client workload so that they meet court deadlines
- Attend court with clients although not to speak on their behalf
- Manage client expectations and help them to present their case effectively
- Review opposition documentation and provide strategic guidance that you are able to then able to assist clients to impliment
- Examine evidence of both litigants in detail and produce assocated narratives
- Draft witness and position statements on behalf of and in collaboration with clients
- Collate evidence and documents for purpose of producing exhibits and court bundles
- Identify and draft the correct court applications for each client in a variety of scenarios involving children and financial matters
Must Have
- At least one year (provable) experience as McKenzie Fried, paralegal or solicitor
- High Ethical Standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to self manage demanding work loads and meet deadlines
- Excellent Administrative Skills
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Sufficient IT literacy to take on new software applications to enhance productivity and accuracy of work
- Solution focused mindset
- Dispute resolution skills
